While I Wait!

Things may come to those who wait, but only the things left by those who hustle. - Abraham Lincoln. the 16th President of the United States.

Jean-Batiste Say, among many of the world's greatest social scientists, stated, "The wants of man are unlimited." The hunger for success, the thirst for glory, acceptance and recognition, is always insatiable. Consequently, whether the idle man or the busy man, the student or the teacher, the employer or the employee, whatever strata we find ourselves from the one sitting in the reception, waiting for an appointment to be honored, to the one who will honor the appointment, we are all waiting...in waiting for something better!

From the student who is eagerly waiting for graduation since the first day at school, the one who just graduated and waiting for the first job, the employee waiting for the first salary or for promotion, the employer waiting to meet a set of goals, the unmarried waiting for the right spouse, to the new couple waiting for their first child, we are all in wait for something, something more and something better.
This WAITING, most times, we can barely influence. However, we can greatly influence HOW WE WAIT and as experience has always taught, when we get actively involved while we wait, we might just be paving the way towards whatever expectation we are waiting for. It is therefore reasonable to postulate that it is more profitable to concentrate on what we do while we wait than the waiting itself, hence, the title of this article, "While I Wait".

What should I do while I wait? I will list here a few points and thoroughly explain them subsequently:
  • Be Observant
  • Be Faithful
  • Be Prepared
  • Be Courageous
One must realize that times of uncertainty and doubt are one's most useful periods in which one can tap into one's inner self and the divine-God. It is the time to reflect and refine oneself in preparation for the "net big thing".
