The Eight (8) Habits of Highly Productive People!
Recently, the focus has been on various aspects of helping our readers - existing and aspiring entrepreneurs, and small-medium scale business owners. Helping entrepreneurs develop both workable ideas, ethics and solutions. In most cases, the number of perfection, 7, has been used frequently, thus this post is a shift from perfection to action. That is, adding work to the act of perfecting all that has been gained. It is "the eight (8) habits of highly productive people!" To be the productive often refer to three key aspects of life, which are: procreation, production of goods/commodities, and producing or achieving a notable result(s). This third and last but not the least aspect, is what is talked about here.
So, how do highly productive people behave or live their lives or act upon their plans, daily that make them achieve so much more than their contemporaries, whether in different or the same field in business? Here is the brief talking points every entrepreneur should stick to, beside all others:
- Relentlessly Focus on the Important - As an entrepreneur or business owner, you gotta ruthlessly cut off all unimportant, unnecessary stuff from your schedule or work, daily. This will help you to stay more focused on the most important, which is actually what you should be doing! Don't get distracted so easily and stay right on course. This is not saying one should be workaholic or should not have some time for fun or play or do some other things, but doing all that meaningful in ways that make such add value to you and your goal, is something worth it.
- Have Carefully planned Breaks - There is bound to be need for rest after working so relentlessly on your daily tasks, as the saying goes, "All work and no play make Jack a dull boy." Your body is not that of a robot and thus you will need some breaks but then, in other not to have wasted time and energy. Have all your breaks carefully planned out and avoid having too frequent ones, no matter how much less your tasks have become in the course of the day.
- Start Tracking Pitfalls to Productivity - Apart from the unimportant stuff and unnecessary breaks, there are most likely some other things, internally and externally, that can limit your productivity. Do yourself great good by removing such productivity pit-stops! When possible, research on possible pitfalls to productivity in line with your entrepreneurial exploits, from day to day. Getting to know such will help you prepare daily on how to overcome them and do your best at all times.
- Always Tap into Your Source of Inspiration - There is no better way to get the fire burning inside of you, and keep the light shining on your path, other than getting inspiration daily. You can do this by tapping into your source of inspiration! Who or what is it that inspires you? A book or a role model - as a person or the dream or goal itself? Go back as often as you can to that source of your motivation and get motivated every single day. There is never an overdose.
- Create Barriers to Entry around Yourself - Yes, it is good to be open to new ideas and suggestions from others, but as the same time, don't get carried away by too much waves of new ideas from other to the point that you loose focus of your own dream that you have relentlessly pursued over time. Do not make yourself too accessible, as this will help to guard against the wrong ideas or stuff that weaken your passionate self - the inner you that is driven by your goal or dreams.
- Try Optimizing the Pockets of Time - It will interest you to know that every single minute of the day counts. There should be no idle moment wherein something great could have been done if well utilized. Even reading a page during your resting time or watching a video related to your research or listening to edifying music, can be very invigorating and inspiring! Don't waste that minute because you not going to get it back if lost. It will be gone forever and cannot be replaced.
- Have a Timeline, an Outline or a To-do-list - Hey you, don't just wake up and decide what to do in the wee hours of the day. You will do best when you have a timeline or an outline or a to-do-list on a daily basis. This way you will ensure that things are getting done and you are growing up and getting closer to your goal ever than before. You will also avoid doing things haphazardly.
- Make sure to Automate Everything Possible - Like I said earlier on, you are not a robot, so you need rest, and while you rest certain things can be getting done. You can do this by outsourcing, delegating tasks, and automating some more. These three will really help you to optimize your pockets of time.
