Your Personality And Your Entrepreneurial Success.
Does your personality, I mean, your attitude, your character or habit or lifestyle and/or who you are, affect your success? Does that really matter when it comes to one achieving his or her entrepreneurial goals or making dreams come true, in life? In a previous post, the focus was on leadership habits that may influence one's success. Consequently, it is not out of place for anyone to allude to the fact that one's personality may influence, to some noticeable degree, the success he or she may achieve while exploring entrepreneurial opportunities!
J. Danzie puts it this way, "Your smile is your logo, your personality is your business card..."
Before, delving into the subject matter of this post, let us take a brief look at what personality really is. According to Wikipedia, personality is a set of individual differences that are affected by the development of an individual values, attitudes, personal memories, social relationships, habits and skills. Wow, it is such a web so intricately woven over time and which has such influence on what we do and how we do what we do!
The fact is, it can't be put any better. Come to think of it, "...Your personality as your business card". What role does a business card in the life of an entrepreneur or a business owner? And how important is that to the success of such a business or the business owner? Jonathan Long, founder of Market Domination Media, in his article, "Five Reasons Business Cards Still Matter" stated unequivocally that business card is the first impression of your brand. Thus, for an entrepreneur, his or her personality which is the business card before any contact or connection made, is very crucial. It is wise to conclude that every dream or goal an entrepreneur has, has "people" and "places", as very pivotal to its actualization. Every goal or dream is about serving people or solving a problem in a particular place.
The end part of J. Danzie statement is noteworthy to every entrepreneur and that is, "how you leave others feeling after their experience with you, becomes your trademark." I would dare to say that it is also dependent on the personality that you have formed over time. A sadist or racist will remain one if no change of attitude is made by him or her, whether before his or her stakeholders or target customers or clients. In the same vain, an optimistic entrepreneur will always see something positive in someone or something that he or she has set his or her mind on. The response of a pessimistic and/or optimistic entrepreneur(s) will ever be different over nearly every situation that may arise in the course of an entrepreneurial exploit!
With all said and done, remember that an admirable personality, the impression you give to your stakeholders, the passion you put in pursuit of your entrepreneurial goal(s), and the spirit behind every move you make, do a lot more good than most other factors combined.
